The Surat Thani City Pillar Shrine, also known as San Lak Muang, is a revered symbol located in the heart of Surat Thani. Erected in 1956, the shrine is made from the wood of the Golden Shower Tree (Cassia Fistula) and stands prominently near the Tapee River, close to the famous Surat Thani City Bridge. This shrine is not only a religious landmark but also a cultural beacon, often lit up beautifully at night, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists to visit
